Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of the H.E.L.P. Free Clinic. Individuals are needed in all areas to serve the uninsured and medically under served on the Peninsula. Many volunteers are needed in "behind the scenes" jobs, as well as working with Clinic patients. We utilize volunteer workers with medical as well as non-medical skills.

Data Processing
  • Times: Monday-Thursday 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • Data Entry: volunteer hours, services providers, etc.
Prefer minimum of 1 day per week in 2 - 4 hour shifts

Front Office Workers
  • Register patients; pull charts; answer telephone
Medical Professionals
  • Medical Doctors, Nurses, and CNA's needed at all clinics
    (at least one clinic per month)
  • Clinic Hours:
       Monday 5:00pm - 8:30pm
       Tuesday 5:00pm - 8:30pm
       Wednesday 9:00am - 12:00noon &
                         1:00pm - 4:00pm
       Thursday 5:00pm - 8:30pm
Dental Professionals
  • Dentists, Dental Technicians, to work any day
    Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • Dentists to supervise Dental Hygienists
  • Dental Hygienists to work any day Monday - Thursday
Administrative Assistants
  • Answer phone
  • Correspondence
  • Do inventory
  • Organize cabinets
  • Shop for supplies
  • Telephone surveys
  • Coordinate volunteers
  • Call patients for reminder of appointments
  • Send out greeting cards
  • Help with newsletter
  • Set up appointments for outside referrals
Community Outreach
  • Get supplies donated
  • Organize volunteer snacks/dinners during outreach
Office Supplies Needed
  • Address Labels
  • Copy Paper
  • Stamps
  • Mailing envelopes (large size)
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Towels
  • 13 gallon trash bags (draw string preferred)
  • Windex
  • Furniture Polish
  • Lysol Spray
